About Me
Charles is a unique and dependable media industry voice. He was raised by queer parents in northern Virginia, an hour outside Washington, D.C., and attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he received a B.A. in Film and English in 2019. At Vassar, he contributed to student publications, hosted a world cinema talk show on the FM student radio station, and wrote a thesis on French women-directed coming-of-age movies.
Demonstrating early promise at just 12 years old with a film review column in his hometown's local newspaper—and subsequently running a website where he oversaw a staff of writers two, three or even four times his age—Charles continues to freelance as a film and music critic at Slant Magazine and other outlets to this day.
His interests and skills are wide-ranging. In 2022, Charles joined an industry-leading networking, events and media organization serving the U.S. government contracting ecosystem. Beginning as a staff writer, he quickly gained the esteem of his peers and has been promoted three times. He now leads the global media team and is responsible for developing marketing strategy, stewarding the style guide, hiring and onboarding writers, and maintaining client relations, among many other duties. He has personally generated nearly $200,000 in revenue.
Outside of work, Charles is passionate about aesthetics and fashion, his grueling workout routine, and attending as many concerts as possible.
