Charles is a senior communications leader with demonstrable business impact. He currently directs the media team at an industry-leading networking and publishing organization, with his team's work promoting and enabling a multi-million-dollar event portfolio. In his first year leading the media division, Charles increased its direct revenue contributions by 70%, and has personally brought in over $200,000 in his four years with the company.

In this role, he capably operates within a range of disciplines: marketing, public relations, executive thought leadership development, sales, journalism, and more. 

Alongside his full-time role, Charles is a freelance writer on culture, particularly film and music. He's been a Staff Writer at Slant Magazine for nearly six years and is the de facto head writer for all things music.

Charles attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, earning a B.A. in Film, with a minor in English. He currently lives and works in the Washington, D.C. area.

He credits the origins of his sales acumen to lessons learned on his mom's ice cream truck as a child and his passion for the arts to his scrupulously intellectual grandmother.
